Nov 26, 2012 - Ron Wilkinson
Hi I have just found your site....very good I live in the UK and over the weekend I decided to finally do an over night walk and wild camp that I had been thinking about for some time alone and in late November increased the challenge. I set of on a lovely frosty morning, glorius views as the walk is all hills. I had set my challege to get to a wooded area and then set up and rest there until next day. I arrived in good time and proceded to set up my tarp and bivi, then some local farmers on a pheasnt shoot with no idea I was there started shooting! this caused me to get sppoked I decided to decamp and head back to an old glider station I had seen earlier back another 4 miles and high hilss, steep climbs. Finall got there starting to get dark originally set up outside but weather turned, got inside an old derelict building with some cover, managed to get a fire going..nice! fell asleep at 0200 awoke to hear strong winds and rain kit wet through , fire out me cold!
