If you click the picture, you can see a larger version. And, if you look real close, you might see some of the 50 elk that thundered across the trail ahead of me on the prairie south of Marshall Lake. That was a very cool thing to see.

Wow!!!!! 33 miles! Awesome! You are among the godz of backpacking in my personal pantheon. enjoy your rest day.
BTW- I'm using your foot care section with my Backpacking merit badge group at Phillipo this weekend. We're putting in a mighty 2 miles tomorrow...

Rick - the elk were way cool! No bears or cougar, which is fine by me now that I'm by myself. No gila monsters either which is a bummer.
George - it looks like I'll have a few more 30mile days ahead. But, this light pack really makes a difference. When there's no one to talk with, I just walk.
